This two storied Air-Conditioned building is situated at a central place in South-West Kolkata over James Long Sarani, parallel to Diamond Harbour Road (NH-117). The building was completed in the year 2004 & was inaugurated by Sri. Subrata Mukhopadhyay, Mayor, Kolkata Municipal Corporation in presence of Dr. Surjya Kanta Mishra, MIC, Health & FW, Govt. of West Bengal on Sunday, 6th February 2005. In the Ground Floor of the Building, the Outdoor Charitable Clinic & Vaccination Centre, IMA Office and IMA Library & Media Centre is housed. In the first floor is the state of art Jogendra Mohan Rakshit Convention Hall (JMRCH) equipped with modern audio-visual facility and seating capacity for 200+ persons. In the 2nd floor (which is roofed) the IMA Open Air Dining Hall is situated.The IMA Behala Branch Building is now the Landmark of this part of the City.

Established in 1969, Indian Medical Association, Behala Branch is the Second Largest IMA Branch in West Bengal with 543 members as on 23.07.2010.
